Collections

The Simpson Institute is a program of the AHC that focuses on the acquisition, preservation, and research use of the papers of prominent individuals, institutions, and organizations that have provided leadership – political, economic, social, and cultural – for Wyoming and the region. The institute also conducts related oral history projects and supports public programming.

Processing is complete on the Milward L. Simpson Papers, consisting of approximately 274 cubic feet of material which provides hundreds of topics for scholarly research. Simpson had an important leadership role in many Wyoming issues including ranching, grazing rights, the development of Yellowstone Park, and the Shoshone irrigation project. These papers are available for research use.

The Alan K. Simpson Papers, which contain approximately 700 cubic feet of material, will be available for research use in the future.
