The organizational chart for the University
of Wyoming has been used as the basis for the authority file of
university departments. The authority file is an alphabetical list
of departments, colleges and units, with a referring administrative
hierarchy, based on research from UW Trustee minutes and operating
budgets for the organization of the university administration and
instructional divisions. Any subsequent changes to the
organizational chart are reflected in the authority file.
The departments are in bold and the unit classifications of the
departments are within brackets, e.g. [II.H]. For those departments
that are not current, the term "Subordinate to" is used.
If the department has had a name change, the terms "Previously"
and "Subsequently" are used. "See" and "See
Also" references are included. If dates of establishment and
termination are known, they are given. Any dates preceded or succeeded
by a dash (-) are tentative dates.
The records of departments, units and colleges are maintained intellectually
and physically as distinct units and receive a six digit number
for identification and tracking.
