Make a Difference!

Private gifts are the reason the University of Wyoming’s American Heritage Center is so outstanding today.

Officially established in 1945, the American Heritage Center (AHC) is the University of Wyoming’s (UW) repository of manuscript and special collections, rare books, and the UW Archives. Today, the AHC enjoys an international reputation as a premiere archival and research center and is among the largest non-governmental archives in the nation. The AHC supports a wide range of research and teaching activities in the humanities, sciences, arts, business, and education. Our reading rooms, and most of our public programs, are free and open to the public.

And all of this has been possible because of people like you!

To Continue Our Record Of Distinction, Private Support Is Crucial

The AHC receives only 45% of its operating budget from state appropriations and user fees. Thus, the majority of our funding comes from private donations. Gifts of all sizes are very important to the AHC, making it possible for us to continue to support the educational needs of university and K-12 students, provide a wide array of free public programs, and sustain the research of students, faculty, scholars, and the public.

Thank you for considering a gift to the University of Wyoming’s American Heritage Center. We invite you to browse these pages to learn more about giving to the AHC. We hope that you will decide to join us in providing quality educational and enrichment opportunities to the university's community and abroad.
