Photographers of Wyoming

Like many before them, C.D. Kirkland, J.E. Stimson, and Charles J. Belden created and successfully marketed images of a mythic West. Setting their photographs against a backdrop of spectacular scenery, they intentionally emphasized the more romantic aspects of ranching. All three were master photographers, and like good artists they used their work to tell a story. In addition their photographs provide a valuable historic record of ranching and life in Wyoming.

Size: 25 framed items (14” x 17” ea., 2 crates).

Man and horse in pond, ca. 1908. Charles J. Belden Collections, American Heritage Center.
