December 2009

In 1928, the Union Pacific Railroad decorated its old stone roundhouse for the Christmas season. When this roundhouse was no longer being used for the railroad’s operation, it was converted into a community center where holiday parties and other events often were held. The image was taken by Henning Svenson. His studio became the Ludwig Studio in 1943. Ludwig -Svenson Studio Collection, UW American Heritage Center.
