  Gregory Franzwa
Author Gregory M. Franzwa

Gregory M. Franzwa, author of The Mormon Trail Revisited, will present a program on the route of the National Historic Trail. The slide show will feature images of the 1,400-mile trail from Nauvoo, Illinois, through Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming, to the future home of the Mormon pioneers, the valley of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. The historic trail passed along the north bank of the North Platte River from the Nebraska line to Fort Laramie, and from there it followed the well-beaten Oregon Trail to Fort Bridger.

Franzwa, founder of the Oregon-California Trails Association, lives in Tooele, Utah. He and his wife, Kathy, spent three years researching the trail, including several field trips totaling some 10,000 miles along the historic road.
