Miss Stanwyck gave her scripts and awards to the American
Heritage Center in two shipments, through her press agent, Larry Kleno.
Her scripts arrived in 1979, while her awards and trophies arrived in
1990. A research collection of audiotapes, which were assembled by Ella
Smith in the course of writing Starring Miss Barbara Stanwyck,
were incorporated into the Stanwyck collection in 1992.
The collection should be cited as: Barbara Stanwyck Collection,

Biography
Barbara Stanwyck (1907-1990) began her acting career on
the stage and in silent movies. She starred in more than 80 films including
such award winners as: Christmas in Connecticut, Double Indemnity,
Sorry Wrong Number, Walk on the Wild Side, Meet John Doe, So Big, Union
Pacific, and Stella Dallas. She starred in numerous television
series including The Big Valley, The Thorn Birds, The
Colbys, and The Barbara Stanwyck Show. She worked with famous
directors including Frank Capra, and William Wellman. She was given many
awards including an Emmy for The Thornbirds and an Oscar for her
distinguished contributions to the movie industry.

Scope
and Content
The Barbara Stanwyck collection focuses exclusively on her
life as a movie and television actress. It includes her movie and television
scripts, audiotapes of her performances, some of her films, and her awards.
The audiotapes were recorded from television and radio broadcasts as they
were available and are neither in chronological nor subject order. Movie,
television, and/or radio performances sometimes appear on the same tape.
It is therefore necessary to read this section carefully to locate titles.
